Welcome to the Big Kid's Arena

Well you made it. No more coaching little players who would rather chase butterflies than chase a soccer ball. You have entered the transition into Big Kid's soccer.

Don't be nervous we got you through this far and I haven't run out of funny things to say and curriculums to give.

The good news here: The players are starting to learn the positions that they like to play.  The hard part is recoginizing the skills of 12 plus players at one time.  Here's even more good news:  You have weeks to sort it out.

Many U9/U10 players are still very "self" motivated.  You will hear the term ball hog thrown around a time or two.  Your biggest challenge this year is to get your 12 players to play as one team.

Here is the golden rule of soccer: Pass onto others as you would have them pass onto you.  Remind the players that the only name on their jersey is the team name because they are all one team.

I like cliches so here is one more:  The ball is round so make sure you pass it around.

Keep complimenting, remember compliment, correct and then compliment again.  This is one lesson that will follow through from U6 to U18.

The USYSA is a great curriculum to follow for U9 and U10.

Your commissioner is available as a resource for you.  Reach out to them because they are here to help!.
